Brown Sugar

In the former British colony of Hong Kong, a Chinese man, Oakey, and Japanese fellow, Toshi, had set out to sway the local club scene with the sound of Latin, soul, broken, funk, Afro, deep house, break-beats and drum 'n' bass.

The euphonic blend has subsequently become the trademark of Brown Sugar.

Since the mavericks beginning, Oakey & Toshi have played alongside UFO, Towa Tei, & Howie B and some of the largest venues in Hong Kong.Their regular night in Tokyo has also featured live performances by Keiko & Banakin (Paris-based afro percussionists), pianist Mr. Suzuki, Lotabomba, and more.

The duo has also produced music for TV commercials & promos
