SR066- Frankie Valentine-Zumbi (Maxi-Single)

The fourth release out of Frankie´s full length album "World Of What" (SR065) features the tale of "Zumbi", the slave.
Zumbi was one of the last leaders of the Quilombo dos Palmeres. A Quilombo was a refuge of runaway slaves.
The warriors became experts in Capoeira, a martial arts form developed in Brazil by African slaves in the 1500s due to forced defense against repeated attacks by Portuguese colonial power.
Zumbi is still honored by Afro-Brazilians today who celebrate him as a hero and a symbol of freedom.
The 808-version of the album track "Zumbi" offers an unreleased mix by Frankie himself.
It features the bahia based singer, Macaco, and Vienna´s own Brazilian percussion wizard, Fernando Paiva!
To honor Zumbi´s tale, we´re grateful for the contribution of two of Europe´s finest producers.
Berlin based Henrik Schwarz is a long-time aficionado of funk, house, disco, jazz, techno and soul. And last but not least, back by popular demand, Enrico Volcov!
